The scholarship is valued at up to <strong>$60,000<\/strong> and covers the cost of tuition fees, living expenses, flights, textbooks and health cover.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Know the Eligibility<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <strong>1.<\/strong> Applicants must be international students who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<strong> 2.<\/strong> Applicants must be Indian citizens and current residents of slum communities in Delhi where ASHA works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <strong>3. <\/strong>Applicants must apply for a postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney before being considered for the award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <strong>4.<\/strong> Applicants currently enrolled in a postgraduate program at the University of Sydney are ineligible to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <strong>5.<\/strong> ASHA recommends preferred candidates who meet all requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Ongoing Eligibility<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To continue receiving the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a GPA of 65 and have no outstanding fees.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The recipient must remain enrolled full-time. The Scholarships Office must approve part-time scholarships, and the living allowance will be paid at 50% of the full-time rate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">\u00a0Recipients who undertake an exchange during the scholarship period must have achieved a grade of &#8220;Satisfied Requirements&#8221; (SR) to receive their subsequent payment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The scholarship can be transferred to another significant degree or faculty at the University of Sydney but not to another university.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Other Requirements<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As a scholarship recipient, you may be asked to help promote the scholarship and the program you&#8217;re enrolled in. As a representative of the University of Sydney, you may be asked to attend student, marketing, and corporate networking events. The University of Sydney will cover the costs of representing the University at these functions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>What is the Selection Criteria?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a01.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be awarded based on academic performance, financial need, and a personal statement submitted with the application for a postgraduate coursework degree.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a02. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ASHA will collaborate with the University of Sydney to identify and recommend potential candidates to the Vice-Principal of External Engagement for consideration.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a03. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0It will be awarded based on the nomination of the Vice-Principal of External Engagement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a04.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once a decision has been made, it is considered final and cannot be challenged or appealed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Value<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scholarship will cover the full tuition fee of the postgraduate course, an annual living allowance of $12,000, textbooks and a yearly return flight to India, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/unimoni.in\/insurance.php\"><b>overseas health cover<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, student amenity fees, and on-campus accommodation for the duration of the program.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a02. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Applicants must accept their unconditional offer of admission by the deadline specified in their scholarship offer letter. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship offer being withdrawn.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a03. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The student must stay enrolled at the University of Sydney beyond the census date.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a04. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0To receive their living allowance, students must have an Australian bank account and wait until after the census date of each semester. The first payment instalment will be made within 7 business days of the student&#8217;s arrival in Sydney. To ensure prompt payment processing, students should contact the Scholarships Office.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a05. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0To support students, we offer a reimbursement of up to $3000 for textbooks and one annual return flight to India. This reimbursement is available upon presentation of receipts, and payments are made twice a year, in April and September. Students must submit a claim form and attach relevant receipts to claim a refund.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a06. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Deferral or suspension of the scholarship is not possible.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a07. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The scholarship is subject to the availability of funds.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a08.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0No other amount is payable.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a09. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0All amounts are quoted in Australian Dollars.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a010. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The selected scholar agrees with ASHA to return to India after graduation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Termination<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a01. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0If the recipient fails to meet the scholarship requirements, their scholarship will be terminated:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Withdraws from their program or fails to enrol.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Becomes a domestic student.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Commences part-time study without prior approval.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Does not maintain a satisfactory academic performance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Is found by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, such as providing false or misleading information in their scholarship application.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Does not resume study at the end of approved leave.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Violates any other provision of the scholarship terms and conditions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u00a02. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0If a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from their program, the University reserves the right to request that they reimburse any scholarship funds already paid.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>What is the Asha Community Health and Development Society (ASHA)?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>ASHA<\/strong>&#8211; <strong>Asha Community Health and Development Society<\/strong> is a non-profit organization working in the slums of Delhi, India.
